I started teaching piano in 1994. On completing a piano tuning, I would always play the piano to make sure everything sounded satisfactory to the customer. So many people asked me if I knew a good teacher and could I teach either themselves or their children that there appeared to be a gap in the market locally. This set me thinking as I had already achieved Grade VIII in the Associated Board Examinations and been playing both the piano and Church organ for various functions. I took on several pupils and at the same time took the course for the ABRSM teaching diploma. In July 1999 Sir Ernest Hall presented me with my CT, ABRSM diploma. Prior to my move from Oxfordshire I had up to fifty pupils per week, many of whom took ABRSM Examinations and achieved excellent results.
Having moved from Oxfordshire to Lytham St Annes in 2004 I am looking to expand my current number of pupils.
Whether it be for pleasure or to complete the ABRSM graded examinations, I am sure I can help you. I have a 100% pass rate with ABRSM piano examinations.
The youngest pupil I have taught has been age four and the oldest seventy five.
I have a fully equiped studio in Lytham St Annes, with a baby grand piano, an upright piano, several keyboards and a digital piano. My studio also has computers set up with music education games and capable of recording. I have been using Cubasis VST since 2000 and have good computer skills.

I usually start off with a five lesson trial course to see if both parties are happy. Then a term of ten lessons is £120.00. This includes the chance to record your own CD.
For the five lesson trial, the lesson rates are £12.00 per 30 minutes, one lesson payable in advance, plus you will need to purchase a beginners music tutor book which is usually around £5 or £6 depending on your age.
